Using special federal and other housing funds, the City of Lakewood administers a Fix-Up, Paint-Up program utilizing grant funds to paint the exterior of single-family homes as well as interest-free, deferred-payment loans of up to $18,000 for low-income residents to repair and rehabilitate their homes.

Eligibility requirements

  • To qualify, your home must be a single-family, owner-occupied dwelling in Lakewood.
  • The family must meet the income limits set by the federal government, which are $70,650 for a resident living alone, and $100,900 for a household of four. (Income limits adjust based on household size.)
  • Other restrictions apply.

Repayment information

Grant funds for approved Fix-Up, Paint-Up program projects never need to be paid back.

The interest-free, deferred payment loans only need to be paid back when the house is sold or refinanced or the title is transferred.
