Nearly 40,000 members of our U.S. Armed Forces overseas have received a very special thank you from Lakewood residents, schools, businesses and community groups since the start of the city’s Thank a Servicemember campaign in 2014.

The City of Lakewood’s 10th annual ‘Thank a Servicemember’ campaign is in full swing, collecting cards and letters of appreciation to send to our U.S. military servicemembers stationed far from home.

In celebration of the 10th annual campaign, Lakewood invited artists of all ages to contribute postcard designs for the campaign.

Here are the six winning designs, available on postcards at City Hall and our partner locations.

You can pick up a free postcard, write your message and drop it in the collection box in City Hall, or you can make or write your own card or letter and bring it in.

The deadline to deliver the cards to City Hall is Friday, Dec. 1.

The city will send the collected cards and letters to the nonprofit organization Operation Gratitude for delivery with care packages sent to U.S. servicemembers overseas.

Please take a few minutes to share your appreciation for the sacrifice of our men and women serving our nation overseas. They will receive your greeting during the holiday season.
