College Information & Admissions Workshop
As a follow-up to Lakewood's Oct. 8 College Fair, parents and teens are invited to attend a free College Information & Admissions Workshop held on Wednesday, Oct. 16 at the Lakewood Youth Center from 7:15 to 8:30 p.m.
High school students and their parents are invited to a dynamic conversation and presentation by independent college admissions expert John H. Wilson, III, director of the highly regarded West Angeles Education and Enrichment Program on the costs, processes and requirements to enroll in college successfully.
Get answers to the top frequently asked questions and discover alternative college processes that are far more career effective and affordable.
Topics include:
- The College Admissions Process: Where should students apply and what will it cost?
- CSU, Common App and UC Application Process.
- All about the FAFSA: How to get started, when to file, and who files it?
- What you and your teen should be doing (by grade level) to get ready to apply for college.
- What does loan forgiveness rejection mean for your student's college future?
- The new Digital SAT and what it means for high-GPA students.
- Question and Answer Segment.
This is a free session but registration is required.
