Street with road blocks and text Traffic Alert

Lakewood has the reputation as a city that keeps its streets in top-notch condition. That means repaving streets when pavement first begins to deteriorate...before potholes develop.

The City of Lakewood's experienced contractor, R.J. Noble Co., will continue work this month repaving major portions of six roadways.

Daytime paving projects

Residents are encouraged to find alternative routes around these areas during daytime hours.

  • Pioneer Blvd. (between Del Amo Blvd. and Carson St.) will have repaving work Sept. 8-9 and Sept. 13-15. One lane of traffic will remain open in each direction at all times, but expect traffic to be delayed.
  • Los Coyotes Blvd. (between Del Amo Blvd. and Pioneer Blvd.) will have repaving work Sept. 8 and Sept. 16. One lane of traffic will remain open in each direction at all times, but expect traffic to be delayed.
  • Del Amo Blvd. (between Pioneer Blvd. and Bloomfield Ave.) will have repaving work Sept. 12 and Sept. 15-16. One lane of traffic will remain open in each direction at all times, but expect traffic to be delayed.
  • Ashworth St. (between Clark Ave. and Bellflower Blvd.) will have repaving work Sept. 19-20. That section of roadway will be fully closed during that time, with allowances only for residents to access their homes.
  • Castana Ave. (between Hedda St. and Ashworth St.) will have repaving work Sept. 19-20. That section of roadway will be fully closed during that time, with allowances only for residents to access their homes.

Roadways will be fully open during evening hours except for two commercial roads (below) where work will take place at night.

Nighttime paving projects on largely commercial streets
