Senior Services and Human Services
The City of Lakewood has canceled or postponed city events and recreation classes effective Friday, March 13 and for at least the remainder of the month of March. In addition, the Weingart Senior Center and Burns Community Center will be closed through the end of March to reduce the risk of the coronavirus spreading among the vulnerable senior population that congregates in those centers. Lunchtime meals at Weingart will be distributed for take-home use. Meals on Wheels deliveries from Burns will continue but will be staffed in a way that minimizes the congregating of volunteers.
