Award of Valor

Award of Valor text with gold laurel wreath

The Award of Valor Luncheon, held every year in the fall, brings together Lakewood civic and business leaders, public safety professionals, block captains, Sheriff's Station volunteers, Volunteers on Patrol and residents, in a show of support and appreciation for local heroes and public safety personnel.

The L.A. County Sheriff and L.A. County Fire Chief help present the awards to the recipients in their departments.

The Award of Valor event recognizes conscientious residents, too. The BOLO (Be on the Lookout) Award is presented to Lakewood residents or visitors who called in suspicious, unusual or criminal behavior that resulted in an arrest.
