Free Chromebooks for residents age 65+

The City of Lakewood is providing a limited number of free Chromebooks (laptops) for older adults over the age of 65 who live in Lakewood.

This grant is intended for seniors who currently do not have access to technology, or who have outdated technology.

How to apply

Applications will be available in January 2023.

Please call the Burns Community Center at 562-925-7512 to be added to the mailing list.

You will be notified when the new application is ready.

Application steps

  • Print out, complete and sign the Senior Tech Grant Application form (posted here in January 2023).
  • Include a copy of your current utility bill that shows proof of your Lakewood residency (gas, electric, water, rental agreement)
  • Include a copy of your driver's license or valid ID that proves you are 65 or older
  • Mail or deliver your application by the deadline.
  • Call 562-866-9771, extension 2418 if you have any questions. 

NOTE: If you don't have access to a printer or copier, bring your documents to Burns Center and staff will make copies for you.
