Free Chromebooks for residents age 65+

The City of Lakewood is providing a limited number of free Chromebooks (laptops) for older adults over the age of 65 who live in Lakewood.

This grant is intended for seniors who currently do not have access to technology, or who have outdated technology.

How to apply

The current application period has closed.

Please call the Burns Community Center at 562-866-9771, ext. 2418 to add your name to the waiting list. An application will be mailed to you in May when available.

Application steps

  • Print out, complete and sign the Senior Tech Grant Application form.
  • Include a copy of your current utility bill that shows proof of your Lakewood residency (gas, electric, water, rental agreement)
  • Include a copy of your driver's license or valid ID that proves you are 65 or older
  • Mail or deliver your application by the deadline.
  • Call 562-866-9771, extension 2418 if you have any questions. 

NOTE: If you don't have access to a printer or copier, bring your documents to Burns Center and staff will make copies for you.
