Pickleball schedule for fall and winter

Pickleball players

“Pickleball,” an active mix of badminton, ping pong and tennis that offers a fun (but less intensive) way to exercise, is so popular that Lakewood is offering it four days a week.

See what it’s like to play pickleball in this CityTV video.

Pickleball is especially popular with older adults because it’s fun, social and played on a smaller court so you can get healthy exercise with less “wear and tear” than in other sports.

Where and when to play pickleball

From Sept. 5 through Dec. 15, pickleball is played on the basketball courts at Mayfair and Bolivar Parks mornings and evenings, as shown.

MAYFAIR PARK - Mornings

Mondays / Wednesdays / Fridays: 9 to 11 a.m.

MAYFAIR PARK - Evenings

Tuesdays: 6 to 8 p.m.

BOLIVAR PARK - Evenings

Fridays: 6 to 8 p.m.

There's no cost or obligation to try, and no need to pre-register.

Nets are provided and, while players are encouraged to bring their own paddles and balls, a limited number of paddles and balls are available for check out.

Winter Pickleball

Starting the week of Dec. 18, 2023, there will be no evening play at Mayfair or Bolivar Parks through mid-March 2024 due to the Lakewood Youth Sports basketball season.

Only morning play at Mayfair Park will continue.
