Council Members
The five members of the city council are elected to serve a four-year term of office.
Each year, the city council reorganizes, selecting one council member to serve as mayor and another as vice mayor.
The mayor is selected by the City Council from among its members and serves a one-year term.

New council districts
As of 2022, Lakewood City Council Members are elected based on districts, each representing a portion of the city, instead of having each council member elected by the entire city as is the current practice in Lakewood.
Council members are elected in Districts 1, 2 and 5 every four years starting in 2022.
Council members are elected in Districts 3 and 4 every four years starting in 2024.

- ProfileVice Mayor Todd Rogers was elected to the City Council in March 2001 and re-elected in 2005, 2009, 2013 and 2017 for additional four-year terms. Most recently he was elected in June 2022 by the voters of the new District 1 of the city. His current term runs through June 2026.

- ProfileCouncil Member Steve Croft was first elected to the Lakewood City Council in March 2005 after having served the four previous years on the city’s Planning and Environment Commission. Steve has served as mayor four times. He was elected in June 2022 by the voters of the new District 2 of the city. His term runs through June 2026.

- ProfileCouncil Member Jeff Wood was first elected to the Lakewood City Council in March 2011. He ran unopposed for a second term in March 2015, was re-elected to a third term in March 2021. He was most recently elected in March 2024 by the voters of the new District 3. His current term on the City Council runs through March 2028.

Statements of Economic Interests (Form 700)
Government Code §87505 requires the City to post to its website the identity of elected officials that file a Fair Political Practices Commission (FPPC) Form 700, Statement of Economic Interests. Form 700 documents are on file at Lakewood City Hall, in the office of the City Clerk, for all City Council Members: David Arellano, Cassandra Chase, Steve Croft, Todd Rogers and Jeff Wood.
