Adult sports programs
The City of Lakewood offers a wide variety of sports opportunities. For current sign up dates, please call the city Recreation and Community Services Department at (562) 866-9771 ext. 2408 during city hall business hours.
Adult Sports

Adult Sports Lakewood features:

  • Affordable registration fees -- one fee at time of registration
  • Lakewood resident and Lakewood sponsored teams receive break in registration fees
  • No officials fees or other fees to be paid at game site
  • Quality playing fields manicured and maintained daily for adult softball leagues
  • Beautiful high school gymnasium for basketball and volleyball leagues and open play times
  • Internet posting of registration packets, schedules, standings and statistics.  Keep up-to-date from the convenience of your home or office.

A shrine for sports heroes at Lakewood McDonald's
News Image After a $750,000 renovation, the Lakewood Youth Hall of Fame has reopened spectacularly at the McDonald’s restaurant on Woodruff Avenue at Del Amo Boulevard. The Hall of Fame Gallery has been housed at the restaurant for 25 years, thanks to the generosity of Ron Piazza, operator of the McDonald’s restaurants in Lakewood and one of the founders of the Hall of Fame.

Lakewood Youth Sports (LYS)
News Image Lakewood Youth Sports consists of a variety of sports opportunities throughout the year for boys and girls ages 6-17 years. The program emphasizes teamwork and sportsmanship via its 40-plus year tradition. Participants register individually and are placed on teams organized at Lakewood parks. All teams are coached by volunteers.
