Lakewood facilities for special events, banquets, family gatherings and meetings

It’s easy to request one of Lakewood’s community centers and park facilities for a family picnic, birthday party, or community event. To make a reservation call 562-866-9771, extension 2497.
There are hourly charges for activity room rental. Lakewood’s two public pools are also available for rental.

Lakewood residents and Lakewood-based community organizations can visit their neighborhood park to reserve a picnic shelter. There is no charge for this use. Click for illustrated brochure

The Centre at Sycamore Plaza, the Mark Taper Vista Lodge at Monte Verde Park, the John Todd Community Center at Mayfair Park and a wide array of park facilities are available for private and business use.

The Centre at Sycamore Plaza

The Centre at Sycamore Plaza is Lakewood's premier facility with over 15,000 square feet of banquet and meeting space. It offers meals prepared by an internationally renowned chef, professional catering staff, convenient location with free parking, and audio/visual and meeting services. Monte Verde Park

Monte Verde Park features the S. Mark Taper Foundation Vista Lodge, a 3,000 square-foot reinterpretation of a classic mountain lodge with exposed beams, "great room" with a fireplace and a wall of windows that provides a panoramic view of the park and covered patio. Beyond this is a landscaped amphitheater and fire ring.

A quarter-mile long nature trail loops around the perimeter of the park, creating a voyage through several ecosystems representing elements of the native California landscape: an oak grove, a dry creek and a fern dell. Other site improvements include the remodeling of the barbecue/picnic area, accessibility, and improved facility access.

Parks and community centers

For family special events and business gatherings, Lakewood’s parks and community centers offer indoor rooms for rent. Rental fees include tables and chairs and some facilities have kitchens and food preparation areas.

In addition to indoor rooms for rent, Lakewood also has two pools that are available for rental during the summer swim season. Mayfair and McCormick pools offer party packages that include organized activities, staffing and lifeguards, and refreshments.
