To help you find what you are looking for, you must first start with the right search words.
If you are looking for information about licenses, you could enter word license.
This will give you results that cover a number of different topics (poss: dog licenses, business licenses, etc) Therefore, if you are looking for a specific type of license, try using additional words to help narrow down the results. By using the words business and license, the results generated will more focused on these items.
Depending on the results generated or to further refine your search, additional words could be added. The search system will then only present results that contain only the words that you enter.
Upper and Lower Case...
Searches within the site NOT case sensitive - all words are converted to lowercase, automatically. For example, searches for business license, Business License, and bUsInEsS LIcENse will all return the same results.
Phrase Searches
If you want to search for a specific phrase or words grouped together, the phrase search would be used. To do this, simply put quotation marks (quotes) around two or more words that you want to search for. For example... "business license"
This will return pages and information that contain only the phrase "business license". If the page has the words business and license but they are not next to each other as a phrase, the page will be ignored and will not be displayed. This search is very effective when looking for specific subjects of interest such as people's names, services and phones numbers.
Negative / Excluding words
If your search results are still too numerous or covering too many subjects, removing specific words can help.
For example, if you are searching for license but do not want to see results associated with business , you can tell the search system to ignore those results by using license -business
Note: Remember to include a space before the minus sign or the system will handle as one word.
