eMagazines, RSS content, and personal service accounts all help residents connect to their city. Lakewood's weekly eMagazines and RSS feeds provide timely news, links and event information. The eMagazine Archive provides a sampling of these illustrated editions that give insight into the community, issues and history. Webcasts of CityTV video segments are also online. All these are free Lakewood Online services and subscribers may opt-out at any time.
An easy-to-use subscription management page allows Lakewood to subscribe and allows subscribers to control their own eMagazine account, and they can always reach a live person by e-mail or phone if they have a question or request.
Since e-mail saves taxpayers postage and paper, Lakewood officials increasingly use it to communicate. Subscribing to eMagazines allows community members to receive comprehensive e-mails linking them directly to topics of interest--general news, recreation, events, or legislation.
Lakewood Connect: Personal Service Accounts
Lakewood Connect is also your ticket to online service at www.lakewoodcity.org/service. This new service “portal” combines the speed a one-click request form with a new option for residents to create their own “personal service accounts.” This new service page groups together Lakewood Online’s many service and site search tools, recreation eCatalog, commonly called numbers listing and building and zoning code library.
The feature lets residents create their own private service accounts and log in through the Web to see the status of their requests, just as they might at Amazon.com to check the status of an order. If a service request is phoned in, then city staff can create the account on the customer’s behalf for checking later.
eMagazines: Opting-out is always an option
The city believes subscribers decide whether they want to continue to receive non-commercial e-mail from Lakewood City Hall. Every quarter we include an “opt-out” story similar to this one. Subscribers may ignore it and subscriptions will continue. Or, they can click to the subscription management page and opt-out.
If you would like to modify your account to receive less, or no e-mail from City Hall, go to our eMagazines homepage at http://www.lakewoodcity.org/esub manage your account.
The city provides an automatic way to “unsubscribe” to any newsletter, notice or schedule the city sends automatically and advises recipients with this notice: “You may have received this e-mail because you have requested the City of Lakewood eMagazine newsletter or are an existing customer of the City of Lakewood.”
This is a user-managed account, and you may log in to update your account or unsubscribe at anytime. This may be done online at the link below or by calling Lakewood City Hall at 562-866-9771, extension 2821.
The weekly eMagazine is also on the Web at http://www.lakewoodcity.org/emagazine. For more information call us at 562-866-9771, extension 2821.
