Lakewood Online: Feedback welcome
Lakewood Online isn’t just another pretty digital face. Beneath the skin lies a whole new way of getting and using city information. The city would welcome constructive feedback as visitors become more familiar with the new design.

Buttons along the top of the pages drop down with menu choices for newcomers, businesses, and long-time residents. There are additional choices for connecting to city government.

The left top of the homepage has  “one click” links to “most used” Web pages.

There is a synergy among online media, city publications, and CityTV programming. A single click on the redesigned Lakewood homepage takes visitors to the city’s “streaming video” page where city-produced programming on cable channel 31 plays continuously, 24/7.

The CityTV channel 31 video stream includes live and taped coverage of Lakewood City Council meetings. There is also a webcast segment library.

While changes in other parts of Lakewood Online are less noticeable, the entire site is now more accessible through keyword searches, FAQs, service guide listings, and CityLine automated telephone information resources. Getting the most out of these new features means becoming an eSubscriber.

With an eMagazine subscription, the integration of online content, updates via RSS, and alerts from the city’s automated telephone system becomes seamless, quick, and completely subscriber managed.

Contacts made easy

Lakewood Online also makes it easy to contact the city with service and information needs. Online forms go directly to customer service staff members. Greatly expanded city and county telephone listings make getting telephone help faster.

A new site index allows users to drill down into Lakewood Online’s extensive databases.

In fact, the redesign of the city’s Web site began with the goal of encouraging greater access to Lakewood resources. As much as Lakewood Online has changed, popular features like the eCatalog for recreation signups, job listings, current news, city calendars, event previews, building and zoning code lookup, and the Lakewood history pages are still part of the city’s web presence.
