CityTV channel 31 online with 24/7 streaming

Award-winning CityTV's 'Lakewood focused' television is available online in addition to cablecasting on cable channel 31. The online “stream” is the same 24/7 programming shown on cable. Live streaming on the Web follows an award-winning year as the City of Lakewood community television channel earned five first-place awards. Shows included a special documentary on Lakewood's sports traditions and values that led to the city's Sportstown USA designation by Sport Illustrated Magazine. Also honored were a transit documentary and a 'day-in-life' human-interest special called "Snapshot Lakewood." An arts segment on our region's Museum of Neon Art also garnered a first place win.

 

Since 1984, CityTV has produced more than 1600 programs and won more than 175 awards from local and national organizations. CityTV cablecasts 24 hours a day, seven days a week, on the Time Warner cable system, channel 31. 

 

The Lakewood cable channel brings viewers programming needed to keep in touch with Lakewood all day, every day. From live city council meeting coverage to the annual State of the City event, the channel is a primary source for Lakewood neighborhood-specific information. The channel looks at both serious issues facing the community to covering the Concerts in the Park series and Block Party.

 

Ongoing series programs include:

 

  • City Council Meetings cablecast live on Tuesdays and Saturdays at 7:30 a.m./pm.
  • Community Digest is a monthly magazine style program, featuring Lakewood news, event calendar, and coverage of community activities, organizations and people.
  • Three public safety series are shown on CityTV:
    • Crime Stoppers
    • Neighborhood Watch
    • Beyond the Badge

      Crime Stoppers is a documentary-style program that covers everything from domestic violence to how to protect yourself from identity theft. Neighborhood Watch covers the quarterly block captain meetings, and Beyond the Badge features in-depth interviews and discussions of current public safety topics.
