Documents of incorporation: Making tomorrow's city
Should Lakewood Annex to Long Beach by John B Wentz in Western City magazine. 1952   The Wentz Report, from which this magazine article was adapted, detailed both a justification for annexation to Long Beach and the political means by which annexation would be brought about. Publication of this article (and circulation of the full Wentz Report) electrified Lakewood business and commuunity organizations and set in motion the process that led to incorporation in 1954.
