Help for job seekers
Lakewood residents needing help finding work can get assistance through the Southeast Los Angeles County Workforce Investment Board (SELACO). The agency provides both online job help and training resources through three local help centers.

 

The agency’s Cerritos Career Center is a hub for training programs and job-finding workshops. The center offers employment assistance and job search tools at no charge. Click for the center’s homepage and events calendar link

 

The SELACO “Job Seekers” webpage outlines employment services, upcoming events and discusses SELCO programs intended to people gain the skills and confidence necessary to find jobs and career opportunities that lead to self-sufficiency and long-term employment.

SELACO has been recognized by the U.S. Department of Labor and the State of California as a national model for community-based workforce and employment development.

 

State funded, SELACO serves Artesia, Bellflower, Cerritos, Downey, Hawaiian Gardens, Lakewood and Norwalk.
