Responding to stormwater pollution mandates from the state's Water Qualtiy Control Board, Lakewood adopted citywide "no parking during street sweeping" regulations in 2007 that were fully implemented in 2008. Over 2,500 tons of litter were kept from Lakewood's storm drains in 2008.
