It’s easy to request one of Lakewood’s park facilities or picnic shelters for a family picnic, birthday party, or community event. Spacious activity rooms are inexpensive and open-air shelters are free to Lakewood residents. Both can greatly enhance your event.

Rooms and facilities must be reserved at city hall. Picnic shelter reservations must be arranged at park offices.

Facilities and activity rooms

Call 562-866-9771, extension 2497 to reserve park facilities, activity rooms, or one of Lakewood’s two public pools. There are charges for use.

Facility reservations are accepted six months in advance of the requested date and no less than 72 hours in advance. Proof of residency required.

Picnic shelters

Lakewood residents can visit their neighborhood park to reserve a picnic shelter. There is no charge for this use. Click for illustrated brochure

Shelters are covered and include picnic tables and barbecue grills. Some shelters have sinks and a preparation table. Call your neighborhood park to confirm availability of a picnic shelter for your gatherings.

Reservation requests must be completed in person at the park for which the reservation is desired. Reservations are accepted no more than two months in advance of the requested reservation date.
