In general, the “on property” parking ordinance:
§ Repeals or relaxes many existing Municipal Code requirements limiting the parking of RVs and trailers on residential property while balancing the rights of neighbors who might object to the storage of these vehicles on adjoining properties.
§ Allows parking of at least one RV or trailer in most driveways.
§ Allows parking of small commercial vehicles and trailers on their property when used by residents in their employment. (Pickup trucks are exempt from weight limitations. Commercial vehicles over 6,000 pounds curb weight and trailers over 2,500 pounds or longer than 20 feet would be prohibited from parking on the owner’s property.)
§ Creates a hardship permit application process for life-threatening medical conditions and situations where an RV is the owner’s sole source of transportation.
