(Originally published 07/2009) Lakewood Center continues to evolve. Recent development has included the opening of a Costco Wholesale store and Forever 21. The latest addition is Paris-based cosmetics retailer Sephora inside the JCPenny department store. Click for video
The upscale cosmetics retailer has found a new home inside stores of its U.S. partner JC Penny and is expanding nationwide. The Lakewood store is one of the first 100 Sephora expansions in the U.S.
Sephora carries over 250 brands of items that include makeup, skin care, fragrance, bath, hair products, hair tools, and beauty accessories, including Sephora's own private label.

This new addition to the CityTV lineup features gardening experts and Lakewood Beautiful Home Award nominees. They share tips and tricks to assist homeowners find new ways keep their homes beautiful.
The segment is part of the growing CityTV Channel 31 video segment library which uses the user-friendly Flash media format. The webcast library includes both recent Community Digest news magazine features and historic Lakewood videos created in conjunction with the city’s fiftieth anniversary.

Streaming media segments bring Lakewood's past, present, and future to light. Using new Flash media, Lakewood Online highlights a series of special CityTV documentaries on city history.
Video clips blend historical photography, film and video footage with interviews of Lakewood residents and city officials. The original collection was created as part of the city's fiftieth anniversary celebration. The city turned fifty on Friday, April 16, 2004. Click for library

(First published 03/2008) At the end of a two-year project to expand and modernize the Lakewood Sheriff’s Station, Captain Dave Fender and his Team Lakewood deputies gave the community a tour of the scope of sheriff’s law enforcement in Lakewood. On Saturday, February 23 they held a celebratory open house at the station.
Sheriff’s K-9 units, county fire apparatus, and the department’s SWAT team and bomb squad were among the public safety units that were on display in station’s parking area off Civic Center Way. This Web streaming segment features CityTV video coverage of groundbreaking ceremonies for the Lakewood Sheriff's Station modernization project. The event celebrates efforts to improve the facility with a 15,400-square-foot, two-story addition, remodeling two existing buildings, and enlarging one of them by 2,300 square feet. Improvements to the station’s lobby, dispatch center, areas for witness and suspect interviews, and locker rooms for deputies also are part of the plan. See the segment
