How can I find out more about Lakewood?

The city provides many ways to learn about the Lakewood community:

Lakewood Living Magazine

The city publishes regular editions of Lakewood Living magazine, mailed to every residential address.  It is full of news, information, and service tips for Lakewood households.

Lakewood Community News

The Lakewood Community News is a monthly publication of the Lakewood Chamber of Commerce.

CityTV Channel 31 Cable Television

CityTV on cable channel 31 produces programs that cover city council meetings, Lakewood news, crime prevention, city programs and services, and sports. Cable channel 45 now includes a daily guide to CityTV programming.

 KLWD 1620 AM Radio

You can learn more about Lakewood by tuning to KLWD 1620 AM on your car radio. 1620 AM offers information on city programs, disaster preparedness, and places to go in Lakewood. It is also designed to be a key source of information in the case of disaster.


How do I make a service request (make a complaint)?

Lakewood's service request number 562-866-9771, extension 2140 is your hotline to city hall. The service request line is open from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. weekdays. City hall is closed alternating Fridays. (On open Fridays, city hall closes at 5:00 p.m.)

If you have an emergency request for a city-provided service after normal business hours or on a closed Friday and you have a touch-tone phone, call 562-866-9771 and follow the recorded instructions to use the automated paging service. A stand-by city staff member will return your call.

If you have an after-hours emergency request for a city-provided service and you have a rotary phone, call the Lakewood Sheriffs Station at 562-623-3500.

If you have a non-emergency service request after business hours or on a closed Friday, call CityLine at 562-925-4357 and press extension 100 to record your service need. A city staff member will respond to your request on the next business day.
