Lakewood City Hall is always open, thanks to new technologies. Lakewood's commitment to legendary customer service is now 24/7.

Here's how to access your around-the-clock city hall:

CityLine: 562-925-4357 Lakewood residents and businesses can obtain information and request services and city forms by telephone from city hall 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, thanks to the CityLine automated phone and fax system.  Using any touch-tone telephone, you can access over 200 prerecorded informational messages about everything from dog licenses to library hours.

Lakewood Online

Lakewood Online is the homepage on the World Wide Web that has become a must see website for Lakewood residents.  Lakewood Online allows anyone with access to the Internet to e-mail a service request to city staff, search the online City Service Guide, keep up with the news, or get the latest information about Lakewood's hundreds of recreation programs whenever they want.

Real people will respond all day, every day, to a city service emergency like a water leak or a downed stop sign.  After business hours, callers with a touch-tone telephone can call the main city hall number and activate an emergency response.

The doors to the city hall open early at 7:00 a.m.  The Administrative Services and Building and Safety counters are staffed early for handling water bills, business licenses, and plan checking.  The regular business day begins at 7:30 a.m.  You can always phone during regular business hours, 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Community Information Radio: 1620 AM

KLWD 1620 AM is a community information resource.  In a disaster, it will become Lakewood's lifeline.  Learn more about Lakewood by tuning to the city's radio station KLWD 1620 AM.  The new service offers information on city programs, disaster preparedness, and destinations in Lakewood such as The Centre at Sycamore Plaza.

Lakewood's trash collection contractor is EDCO/BZ Disposal.

Water service for homes and businesses west of the San Gabriel River is provided by the Lakewood Water Resources Department.

Water service east of the river is provided by Golden State Water.

What are city hall hours?

City hall is open:

  • Monday - Thursday. 7:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
  • Friday - 7:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. (City hall is open alternating Fridays)

For customer convenience, we have exended service hours at the building and cashier counters in city hall. They are regularly open from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. from Monday through Thursday.

The cashier's counter, in the lobby of city hall, is available for water and trash customer service, payment of parking citations issued in Lakewood, building permit and plan check fee payments, and business license applications.  Payments can be made with a credit card.

After-hours water and trash payments can be deposited in the night box at the west entrance of city hall.

The city hall and Lakewood Civic Center are east of Lakewood Center at Hardwick Street.  City hall is between the Lakewood Sheriff's Station and The Centre at Sycamore Plaza in the civic center.

The civic center also includes the Angelo Iacoboni Library, part of the county library system.

Parking is available in front of city hall (short term) and behind city hall and The Centre at Sycamore Plaza.
