How can I get information about city records?

The official records of the city of Lakewood are maintained by the City Clerk’s Office at city hall. Building permit records are maintained by the Community Development Department.

How can I register to vote?
To register to vote, call the County Registrar at 562-462-2748.

When are the next Lakewood city council elections?

Elections for the city council take place every two years, on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in March of odd numbered years (March 3, 2009 and March 8, 2011).

Each year in March, the city council reorganizes, selecting one council member to serve as mayor and another as vice mayor.

Where do I get a marriage license, birth certificate or deed information?

Birth, death, and marriage records are available from the County of Los Angeles. Marriage license informtion also is provided by the same office.
