<description><![CDATA[<img border="0" vspace="5" hspace="5" align="left" src="http://www.lakewoodcity.org/civica/news/inc/blobfetch.asp?BlobID=4666" />Lakewood city council members will join the members of American Legion Post 496, Disabled American Veterans Chapter 19, Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial Post 8615, and Vietnam Veterans of America - Chapter 756 Long Beach, to pay tribute to the men and women who have died while serving in the United States Armed Forces.

<P>The keynote speaker is Lieutenant Colonel Bradley Harroff. He commanded the 15th and 19th Special Operations Squadrons and is a veteran of 116 combat hours in Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom. </P>

<title><![CDATA[Webcast: Lakewood Sheriff’s Station opens its doors to the community - ]]></title>

On Saturday, February 23 they held a celebratory open house at the station.<BR><BR>Sheriff’s K-9 units, county fire apparatus, and the department’s SWAT team and bomb squad were among the public safety units that were on display in station’s parking area off Civic Center Way.
